ABOUT ME

For more than 20 years, I have assisted families through crisis intervention as well as counseling elderly clients and their respective family members as it pertains to the transition/adjustment to Long Term Care placement to nursing homes. Taking inspiration from the beaches of Rhode Island, I create a calm, supportive environment when working with clients and their families to ease the burden during these stressful times. I take great pride in being a client advocate and offering support related to family needs including:

• Stress precipitated by illness and disability

• Fears related to helplessness and death

• Acceptance of need for specialized care

• Admission to nursing home/assisted living facility as well as integrating clients back into the community or home setting

• Interpreting social, psychological, emotional and family problems to health partners to increase their understanding of the clients attitude, behavior, and reactions to illness, loss and disabilities.

• Planning and implementing a comprehensive Social Services program

Helping clients cope with their End of Life process and providing support to their families during this difficult time is my passion.
